Retention: An Academic Pentathlon is a new comedy by Frank Henry Kaash Katasse. Four middle schoolers are stuck with their suddenly and suspiciously rule-crazy Gen-X/Millennial teachers. With indefinite detention on the line, they're forced into a generational Academic Pentathlon that will decide everything. The Breakfast Club meets The Faculty meets internet brain-rot play exploring what happens when curiosity and connection are replaced by competition.

Featuring students from Thunder Mountain Middle School and co-directed by J. Skiba Wuoti and Flordelino Lagundino. Developed with support from Theater Alaska and Juneau Community Foundation.

The production is part of a collaboration between Theater Alaska and Thunder Mountain Middle School to support the artistic aspirations of Juneau students.
