Bostin Christopher

 

Bostin Christopher, mostly retired from the business of show, gets dragged in from the pasture once in a while and is glad to be able to play with Theater Alaska and all these talented folks. Bostin is mostly known to Juneau audiences for his time as a company/staff member at Perseverance Theatre where his work on-stage included: Of Mice and Men, Treasure Island, Seminar, The Odd Couple, and An Iliad. His acting work outside of Juneau includes world premiere plays Off-Broadway (Kit Marlowe, Ice Island) as well as TV/Film work including: Unbreakable, Glass, and Otis as well as some recent work as Pastor Paul in The Christians (Cadence Theatre) and the world premiere of River Ditty with his favorite character name ever: Atticus Dye (Virginia Rep). In addition to acting, Bostin has been involved in New Play Development through his work with a variety of organizations including: Great Plains Theatre Conference (GPTC), William Inge Center for the Arts, NYSF/Public Theatre’s New Work Now!, Manhattan Theatre Club, Theatre for the New City, Moving Arts, Perseverance Theatre, Northwest Playwrights Alliance, Seattle Rep, and he served as the Director of New Play Development at Cadence Theatre in Partnership with Virginia Repertory Theatre in Richmond which established a playwright mentor program with David Lindsay-Abaire. He serves as an Ambassador-at-Large with the National New Play Network (NNPN) as well as serving on the Last Frontier Theatre Conference Advisory Board. Bostin previously held positions as Senior Acting Teacher at Virginia Commonwealth University and the position of Artistic Associate at Perseverance Theatre, where he worked on new play development and commissioning new plays, helping to produce at least one new play each season.
